NIGHTSIDE (FINLAND)
Formed in 1996 in Turku, Finland, NIGHTSIDE belong to the original generation of Finnish black metal, carrying the unmistakable spirit of the 1990s into the present day. After more than two decades of silence, the band returned with Death from the North (2024), a fierce comeback built upon cold, melodic guitar work, relentless aggression and majestic keyboard arrangements.
Their music combines the sinister atmosphere of early Scandinavian black metal with sharp, memorable riffs and haunting symphonic elements, recalling the golden era of Mayhem, Dissection, Emperor and Sacramentum. Raw yet melodic, atmospheric without sacrificing aggression, NIGHTSIDE remain firmly devoted to the sound that defined their beginnings.
Fronted by Jeri “Rauta” Kurunen, a familiar figure within the Finnish underground, the band has entered a new chapter, now signed to the legendary Osmose Productions.
Another rarity on the DARKNESS GUIDES US 2027 lineup! With live appearances remaining relatively uncommon, NIGHTSIDE’s journey to the Forests of Voio offers a special opportunity to witness a band whose roots reach back to one of black metal’s most defining periods.
