MORTHEOS UNLEASHES HIS DARKEST CREATION!
Emerging from Montréal’s formidable black metal underground, SANCTVS is the creation of Mortheos (Xavier Berthiaume), the musician also known for his work with GEVURAH, ATRAMENTUS and his live involvement with AKITSA.
Rooted in the uncompromising traditions of Québec black metal, SANCTVS delivers an intense and deeply atmospheric form of black metal, combining ferocious aggression, dissonant guitar work, haunting melodies and a suffocating sense of darkness. Their music moves between violent eruptions and oppressive, ritualistic passages, creating compositions that are as unsettling as they are immersive.
Following the project’s earlier material, SANCTVS entered a new chapter with De l’Abîme au Plérôme (2026), released through the legendary OSMOSE PRODUCTIONS. A work of spiritual darkness and musical intensity, the album further develops Mortheos’ vision of black metal, balancing raw ferocity with intricate arrangements and an imposing atmosphere.
At DARKNESS GUIDES US 2027, SANCTVS will bring the darkness of the Canadian underground to the Forests of Voio, joining a lineup that celebrates both the established forces and the more elusive names of international black metal.
A formidable creation from one of Québec’s most uncompromising underground musicians. SANCTVS – LIVE AT DARKNESS GUIDES US 2027!
