Asagraum
ASAGRAUM (NETHERLANDS)
Led by the formidable Hanna van den Berg, better known as Obscura, ASAGRAUM have established themselves as one of the finest all-female black metal bands in the world and a commanding force within the international underground. Founded in 2015, the band has remained fiercely devoted to Satanic black metal, earning its reputation through outstanding musicianship, powerful songwriting and an uncompromising dedication to the genre.
Musically, ASAGRAUM draw heavily from the Scandinavian black metal tradition of the 1990s, recalling the cold ferocity of early IMMORTAL, MAYHEM and DARK FUNERAL while developing an identity distinctly their own. Their earlier albums, Potestas Magicum Diaboli and Dawn of Infinite Fire, deliver savage, riff-driven black metal with memorable, freezing melodies. Their latest full-length, Veil of Death, Ruptured, takes their sound further, introducing dissonant passages, hypnotic and almost psychedelic undertones, haunting clean guitars and unexpected changes of pace without sacrificing its aggression. At the centre stands Obscura’s unmistakable vocal delivery, shifting between venomous rasps, piercing screams and sinister, almost deranged expressions of hatred.
DARKNESS GUIDES US 2027 proudly welcomes ASAGRAUM to the forests of Voio. With Hanna van den Berg at the helm, the band represents everything that makes traditional black metal so powerful: conviction, musicianship and absolute dedication. Their all-female lineup remains a distinctive presence in the underground, but it is the sheer quality of their music and the ferocity of their performances that place them among the genre’s finest.
One of the strongest all-female black metal bands in existence. An essential appearance at DARKNESS GUIDES US 2027.
